Web Design - Forest Row - East Sussex

Our client has fifteen student houses in convenient locations close to university campuses in Bristol and Bath.

With the uplift in the student population over recent years, so the demand for suitable accommodation has increased.

In Bristol, there are over 45,000 students attending UWE and University of Bristol. Compare that to the population of Tunbridge Wells (56,000), you can see how much student housing is needed in just one city.

The city of Bath has itself has 20,000 students, equivalent to the population of Crowborough.

The brief and design

With so many student properties, my client wanted to make sure his houses were rented out early.

The brief was for the site to appeal to students, their parents and not to look like an estate agent.

We created a really simple design (...not like an estate agent), one website for Bristol and one for Bath, that contained all the required information for each house, in an easy to navigate site.

Search engine optimisation

With regards to search engine optimisation, "student accommodation bristol" is one of the most competitive search phrases we have come across. There must be over fifty stand alone websites directly targetting student accommodation in Bath or Bristol.

We see this not as a problem, but as a challenge. Our target is for both the Bath and Bristol websites to be page one for the agreed search phrases. Watch this space to see how get on.
